Capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The name is believed to be derived from the term saray ovası meaning "the plains around the palace". The first element is derived from the Turkish word saray meaning "palace". The letter Y does not exist in the Bosnian language and was thus changed to a J. The second element, ova, means "plain, lowland".
