[Opinions] Brutus
A few days ago on another board someone posted a Brutus sighting... and now I'm really digging Brutus. I think an "r" middle name would suit it well. WDYT of it? Like any of these combos, or any combo suggestions?Brutus Raphael
Brutus Redmond
Brutus Runeand a few more combos that are not BR initials...Brutus Solomon
Brutus Labyrinth
Brutus Wesley
Brutus Holdenanother neat roman name Gnaeus pr. NIE-us. I've also always liked Janus nn Jan (pr. like Jan Brady, lol) and Gaius pr. GUY-us. WDYT of these? I guess I have a thing for -us names today.~ Arcadia

Sorry, thumbs down. It's too similar to the Italian word for ugly (same root as "brutal"), in addition to the bad Julius Caesar association.

I think its one of my sleeper names, a name I like but dont think about. I think it is more likely to be used as a middle name but I still think it works as a first name, however not sure I could anme my sound Brutus Hunt.

Hardly a very nice namesake, not to mention the reminder of the word "brutal". I have a very hard time imagining a gurgling baby named Brutus. Sorry :-(

I think Brutus could grow on me, kind of like Rocco.I don't really like any of the combinations you've made so far though I think that all of the names are interesting.I like Janus and Gaius. With Gavin and Galen becoming more popular I think that either of these could work as well.Brutus Orion
Brutus Orlando

Brutus is the name of my friend's English bulldog.

In France Brutus is a classic for bulldogs.
And Janus reminds me of 'anus'.

I don't care much for Brutus. It means and sounds heavy, too much so for my taste. Brutus Solomon fits nicely as a combo, though.

Brutus is nms. The "brute" sound gets me, plus I always think of the line "Et tu, Brute," when I hear it. However I think Brutus Raphael balances the names nicely.I like Gnaeus and Gaius too though I think I'd get sick of having to correct people's pronounciation of the names.

Brutus is cool, but I couldn't name my son that -- it wouldn't suit any son of mine.Brutus Rune, yeah!Gnaeus is neat too. I've also always liked Jan, and it's better as a nick for Janus because then people are less likely to prn it Yaan. Gaius is okay, but as Roman names go it's a bit generic :-) - chazda
