Oooh I just developed a love for this name recently when I met a baby named Samuel. Before that time I had never been able to picture it on anyone younger than 60, but it has quickly become one of my favorite boys names. I think it's a wonderful name if its popularity doesn't really bother you.
I don't care about the popularity.....I just love it all around. Every Sam/Samuel I know is adorable to boot.
Great name if you don't mind the popularity . . .
I think its a wonderful name, but its also extremely popular where I live. I personally know 3 Sams (nn for Samuel) under 3 years of age and know of several others.

Love Sam, not sure about Samuel.
:)
:)
great!
I love it, hate the nn Sam, but its a great classic, biblical name.
The popularity of it stinks. I havent heard it for a while, but I dont know too many young kids. According to www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/index.html, its in the top 20s and has been for a few years.

Love it. Very classic, if getting a bit popular.
I really don't like it.
I think Sam sounds to Dr. Suess...to cat-like.....or used car salesmen.
I also feel the same way about Samantha nn Sam.
I guess it's fine for other people....just not me.

Love it. And it's my youngest nephews name. :-)
