I have a cousin named Griffin, so the name has good associations for me. I don't really care for Phoenix, though, because I have a harder time picturing it as a name rather than the mythical bird or the city.

Haha, thats funny, I used to think the same thing. Except I had them as middle name. I believe it was Jaden Phoenix & Kyan Griffin. Of those I only like Kyan anymore, all very trendy I know.

I've never liked Griffin very much. But it's okay. I love Phoenix it's one my favorites. I would never use it though.

I like both names, though I would never use them myself. And I think they would make a terrific b/b set.

Love Griffin nn Griff or Griffith which is also very nice. It's been on my list for a while, and I think I'll have to highligh Griffith. Quite nice.
Phoenix isn't my thing, I just think of it as a city.

I love Griffin with the nn Fin, but Phoenix is just nms and I especially don't think that they would work as a sibset.

Both are odd to me, like naming your kid Pegasus or Centaur.Phoenix (this spelling only, Pheonix is simply misspelled imo) has the virtue of being attached to a very nicely symbolic creature, and partly because of that I can tolerate it as a name much better than Griffin.A gryphon is a creature that is appointed to guard the treasure of important people. The gryphon would be so diligent in this job that it would tear to bloody pieces anyone who came near the treasure, thus preventing it from being stolen. They would never ask what the unfortunate person was doing there in the first place before killing them, and would never give second chances. So, while their loyalty and commitment to their job is commendable, Griffin for a person, to me, carries the connotations of bloodthirsty closed-mindedness (probably not quite the right word there...) that the creature itself has. All in all, I much prefer the slightly harder-to-pronounce Griffith.Griffin and Phoenix are way too themey for brothers imo, although their sounds are nice together.Miranda

I think they are both great names, leaning more towards liking Phoenix (that spelling only).~Michelle (Mo5)

I LOVE these two names and think they would make a great sib set. I wouldn't use them because they don't go at all with my other fav. names.

They make a good sibset, but I'm not sure I could ever actually get up enough nerve to use them, even though I do like them.
