I have just found this website and was overjoyed that there were so many more Jessamy's in this world. I am female, 31, and from near Derby, UK. Just like others, I was told my name was a derivative of Jasmine, though I had understood it to be a Georgian/Victorian name. I was very interested in the thought that it may be Persian! I love my name and pronounce it Jess-uh-me. People do have difficulty in pronouncing it - I get anything from Jezamine, Jessica, any Jessamys will appreciate that!
