Just some updates on the kids--not that Pelly and I can really call them kids at this point! I can't believe they've gotten so old.
You might have noticed the name Lennon Norris on the bestseller list. Or not. His first book was just published, though, and he's absolutely ecstatic. Finally, after being an English teacher for God knows how long, he's broken into the world he wanted to be a part of. It's a children's book, and it's got bullying as a main theme. I predict great things for it. He's told us all that instead of buying him things for his forty-first birthday, he'll give us each an autographed copy of the book. (Personally, I'm hoping that it's a success and leads him to a wonderfully bookish lady friend; if anyone deserves true love, it's Len.)
Janis has been quite successful as of late, though not in such a public way. She's brought two more children into the world, bringing her up to a grand total of nine. She and her husband, Tyler, have been quite busy! The count is currently as follows: Louisa Janis, fifteen; Paul Tyler, thirteen; Heidi Aurelia, 10; Karenna Margaret, 8; Quincy Fitzpatrick and Maria Red, 6; Nila Frederique, 3; and now the twins (set number two!), Delia Bernadette and Serafina Fidelity. It's quite a lot of children for a woman of thirty-five, but I'm proud of her. They're being homeschooled, just as she dreamed they would be, and Janis makes an excellent teacher.
Renee has been making a splash on the local scene; she was nominated for one award or another for her investigative reporting. It might be the best that's come out of her career yet, which is very good. I'm so proud of her; she's been doing exactly as I hoped to do, before I realized how well I loved taking care of children. Renee is a true muckraker, and I think she'll truly make a difference for the next generation. No next generations from her yet--she says that her sisters have both got the grandchildren covered--but she and her boyfriend, Wolfgang, have been considering marriage.
And of course, then there's Sharon. I'm not sure what Sharon's up to, really. She's been worrying me. Neither Pelly nor I have had word from her in quite a while, and we haven't the slightest idea where she is at the moment. Of course, that huge spat we got into last year probably has something to do with it. The only person who does know her whereabouts is Len, and he says that he's promised not to tell--but that she's perfectly fine and just needs to do some soul-searching. He would know, of course; she always adored him.
Pelly and I haven't been doing much at all lately, really. Nothing half so interesting as our progeny, at least!
