Hello all,
I still find it hard to believe that my kids are off and have their own lives, and some of them families of their own! Although, i have to say, i love being a Nanna as much as i've loved being a mum for the last 28 yrs.
Harry is 28 now and is a Veternarian. He specialises in large and exotic animals and at the moment is employed by the auckland zoo treating the residents there. He loves his job, and why wouldn't he? He's living a dream - interacting with some of the worlds endangered species on a daily basis! He also got married just over two years ago, and his wife Samantha Kayla (Sam) recently gave birth to a little girl who they've named Indiana Lily, affectionatly called Indi.
Charlie, also 28, is living in england where she is a Au Pair to a wealthy family with 3 boys, William Michael, Nathaniel Johan and Vincent Edward. She loves it there and shes also just become engaged to an English man, Andrew Jonathan, so as much as i miss her it doesn't look she'll be coming home anytime soon.
Ella, 24, has just finished training as a high school teacher and i'm so proud of her! She became a single mum at age 19 to my grandson, Noah Beau, so finsihing her education is a huge acheivement. Shes got a job teaching English and History at our local highschool and she and Noah live only 5 minutes from our home.
Zoe, 24, got a job in graphic design straight out of highschool and hasn't looked back. She spends 4 months of every year in Melbourne, running projects for that branch of the company in which shes employed. She isn't looking to settle down anytime soon that I can see, shes just enjoying life and the lifestyle that her successful career enables her to lead.
Lia, 24, is striving to carve herself out a career in the film industry. She's a talented actress and has starred in a few low-budget films, although shes more interested in being behind the camera than in front of it. She's looking at the possibility of moving to the states where there are more oppurtunities, and I think she would have gone by now if it wasn't for the fact that she doesnt want to leave her partner, Joshua Daniel, who shes been dating since they were 14.
So thats my kids. Mark and I are still happily living in the house we raised our kids in, and although we've considered moving somewhere smaller now that the kids are gone, this house holds too many memories, and i'm sure now that we have grandchildren here regularly, this house can hold a few more.
