Not many posted about the one local BA I posted below and I was anxious to see what people thought about the one name. Cedar Moon on a girl. So WDYT? IMO it's horrible.
Edited: forgot a MN

I am vaguely acquainted with a young woman named Cedar, and I'm pretty much settled into thinking the name sounds way, way, way too butch on a female bearer. It's just so .. uh, chipper? Pungent smelling? on a girl, and fails to suggest a strong beautiful tree, to me.
I live in an area where trees called "cedars" (they're more like big junipers, actually) grow all over the place, too, by the way -- and everyone is allergic to them. We all suffer from "cedar fever" every winter, which feels like a bad flu. I can't imagine naming a kid for a major allergen.. or for that matter, a closet deodorizer! (Random association: My ex and I used to joke that our names were Ragweed and Moldspore.) Maybe the Cedar I know was born someplace else.
A true cedar tree is a worthy thing to be named for, I suppose, and it's a pleasant word. I think it should be a boy's name, though.
