Adding the lyn to Declan doesn't make it feminine. I don't care for it. I don't like it on a boy, either, but I only like the name for a boy.

Declyn shouldn't even be on a boy... Declyn sounds just like "decline", which means "dies out, fades away" in French...

Hmmm ... If they are going to use it on a girl (and I don't think it works as such *at all*, but then I don't even like it on a boy), I don't think they should have changed the spelling. But then again, Declyn does look relatively feminine ... Oh I don't know :-/ Don't like it anyway lol.

Hey, I think the "y" can work :). I totally get the overuse & trendiness of it, but sometimes I think it looks cute (ie Taryn, Daryn).

The only problem with the Y is, that as soon as you seen Brandyn, you automatically assume it's a girl, while this one was a boy..same with every other name..could be boy or a tryndy gyrl...
