[Facts] And now for something completely diferent....
...and slightly juvenile, but intriguing all the same: names of imaginary childhood friends. Half a century ago, when I was 3 years old, I had two imaginary companions: "Deedee" and - I swear- "Rasputin" (or something very much like it). I was surprised a few years later to come across a real live Deedee. As for Rasputin, by the time I'd heard of him, the last thing I was interested in was imaginary friends. It seemed a bizarre coincidence that these turned out to be real names. (maybe they were bungled reincarnations!) My younger son had a friend called "Geega" which sounds like a Hindu god. Did anyone else have imaginary companions and make up names for them, and remember them?C'mon...'fess up now.

I never had one specific imaginary friend. I had an imaginary class. Because I've always wanted to be a teacher, I used to play "school". After my tattle-tale brother told mom that I tied him to the chair and forced him to learn his ABC's, I was forced to use my imagination (not too hard for me, even now).
My most outstanding students were:
Steven and Stacy- They were the know-it-alls and twins, too.
Mikey- The class clown. One time he even got sent to the principal's office (that would be me with my mom's glasses on) for writing a dirty word on the blackboard.
Marzapan- the class artist. She drew a beautiful picture I would keep above the chalkboard. Isn't Marzapan something you used when baking? I must have heard it from my mom at the time.
Ursla-the popular snob.
Howie- the most popular boy. He was not a snob, though.
These are the only ones I can remember. My brother used to think I was crazy for talking to myself out on the patio (where we kept the chalkboard). I told him once if he had an imagination he could have an imaginary friend to play with. He cried to my mom because I wouldn't give him one of my imaginary friends. Isn't that funny?

An entire imaginary class?
I'm impressed! By the way, Marzipan is a paste made of almonds, icing sugar and egg yolks. I'm curious...are you a teacher now? I hope you don't have to tie your students to their desks! ;)

correction....I meant egg whites...
I had at least one, but I don't remember the names (it's been at least 28 years since I've spoken their names). Strangely enough, my brother said just a few weeks ago that I used to talk to his imaginary friend .

I think I had Emily.... pretty boring. And my friend's imaginary friend was Kirby! LOL.

My parents nicknamed me after my imaginary friend :o)
hmmm, I am not sure I even want to write this on a messageboard :o). When I was really really young I had an imaginary friend, called Iti (pronounced like Spielberg's ET :o). I hardly remember it and have no idea how I came up with the name. Anyways, my parents thought it was kinda cute and since it starts with the same letter as my name, and my parents don't (or rather didn't) have a short name for lil' me, when Iti left, the name stayed with me. It is so short and easy to remember, you see... Then I started school and my cousin was in my class, so my elementary school budies know me as Iti. Then my cousin and I went to junior-high together. That's how my junior-high friends learned of Iti. Then I went to high-school with one of my junior high friends and Iti went to high-school as my nickname. Then I came to college and there is a guy from my high-school class here... And I am not kidding - my boyfriend learned my real name 3 months after we started dating - he still prefers Iti though. I am turning 20 on Tuesday and I still go by my imaginary friend's name. Isn't that unbelievable? I like it a lot by the way :o)))

"Iti" is definitely an original name..I love it!
chronological or alphabetical order.....
i dont remember them all,
I had a whole gang
There was Tyler, Orisa, Geminisia.. I thought my bike had wings and could fly me home if it liked me enough, it's name was WindSong...
or something like that.
Then there is the infamous George, that i just joke around with, to scare the odd person out that I think he really exists.
I thought many of my stuffed animals were real, amoung them there was Strawberry, Blueberry, Big Brown, Sagicious, Leo, Leoniesses, Rainbow, Dusty, Bamboo, thats all I can remember for now.
Oh dear, I had those my little ponys, i had almost 100, they all had names, and i knew them all.
I named everything when i was little. lol
an early sign of my obsession with names,
I had named all my lego people, and the few Barbies i had (and hated): jessica, terresa, amanda, allison, ariel, mundane names really...
can we say obsessive compulsive?
One time after a dance me and my friend spotted a guy walking across the street and he had the word "Staff" on his back
he was hot, so we kinda played with it
and if you say it in a sexy accent (Stawf), kind of German or Russian, instead of the hard english (Stahf)
He has sevral little adventures now, kind of imaginary friends, cept that was only last year... :S
I nick name everyone at school... but not many of their names are appropriate or would do nething for this website, lol.
There is the Foreign exchange student named Alex, but we call him Finland,
maybe you have to be there for the name to work...
Thats enough of that :S
Nyte all...

None of my imaginary childhood friends had specific names. They were just sort of general, supernatural "presences" that lingered in shadows and dark corners and to whom I might giving a knowing smile, thereby unnerving a particularly troublesome adult.
Some of my favorite "imaginary friend" movies:
Harvey
Drop Dead Fred
Bogus
Oh, and is Mike your younger son? :)

No, Mike isn't my younger son, I'll leave it to him to decide whether or not to disclose his companion's name...come on, Mike, it's really classy!
My imaginary friend was Ra, pronounced "raw". He was short, maybe 6 inches tall, had dark hair and complexion, and always wore a sweater. He was quite a vivid friend. I remember being quite convinced of his existence.
Oh yes, Ra, the Egyptian sun god.. I remember him well
Cool! I was accompanied for years by Lindström. Miss him now :0)
I can't say I was sad when Deedee and Rasputin moved on...
....Dee Dee was a tyrant and Rasputin was a pretty ineffectual type.

Oh yeah...I had "Miss Zsa Zsa", and my brother had(I kid you not)"Taquito". Then later he had one named "Joby" and one named "Bub". And a while back, I was looking through my husband's baby book, and discovered that his imaginary buddies were "Chinook", "Chungo", and "Dave"...when I asked him about them, he said--very seriously--"Yeah, Dave had a van--just like 'The A-Team'." LOL!
Cool names for imaginary buddies...I don't know Dave or the A-Team, alas..
