[Opinions] December
I'm increasingly loving the name December for a girl. I realise it's quite out there, but I believe people would easily get used to it. I'd probably only use it for a child born in December, although I don't think that's crucial with month names - you can simply be honouring your favourite time of year, for example. So, do you like December? Any combination ideas?

Well Decy (as in Daisy) would make a cute nn...i don't really like any months-as-names except June..

I don't like December. It doesn't even much of a meaning. It just means "tenth month." But I do agree with you, it's not so out there and people would easily get used to it.

Yeah, people could get used to it, I think. They got used to April and Tuesday. (If they couldn't, they could just call her Dee.)I agree with Lissa H about the corniness of naming a December baby for the birth month. I'd use it for a child who is born in some other month.I'd put a mn with it that has soft/hissing consonants, like S, SH, TH, T, K. December Charlotte, December Thea, December Patricia, December Natasha? - chazda

My friend likes it spelt Discimber. How weird.I think it's a pretty cool name, though, myself. What would the nn be?

It's pretty but it's really weird that it's a month name that's usually only used as a month name (unlike April or May), why not see if December in a different language is nice, it might be similar but still not the same (or a middle name December). I think it's better to use it for a child born in December but I don't think it's entirely crucial.

I don't care for December (or any "month" names, for that matter). I'd find it terribly clichéd if a baby born in December was named December, so if it were to be used, I'd say use it for a baby born in any of the other 11 months. But, if it *must* be used for a baby born in December (or during any other month), I'd suggest using it as the middle name. Can you really see a 40-year-old woman named December? I cannot. Sorry.

I agree. I like it. I don't think it would have to just be oon a girl born in December, in fact I thnk it would be best if it wasn't. It might seem to themeic at the time of birth. I think it would be cute, like think about it: A girl born in hot July named December! I love it! I'm not to good w/ combos but do you want mn that also make you think of winter or cold? Or just a normal name?Elizabeth

Is your baby being born in December? I think that would make it easier for me to get used to. I know people have been called April, May, June, Juliet, August.......so why not December. It's just that it's rarely done. People will just have to break out of their norms.

Wups, sorry I might have given the wrong impression there :-) I'm not expecting, I was just theoretisising (if that's a word - I'm sure it isn't!) about whether the name would be usable or not. I'm just interested in the names for their own sake :-)Thanks for the feedback!
