[Opinions] Elmyra or Elmira
I'm just wondering (as this name and inspiration came to me in a dream) if Elmyra/Elmira fits a old evil witch/hag of a person. As I'm currently writing a fanstasy story.
What do you think?

Elmyra reminds me of Elmyra on Looney Toons, even though I only vaguely remember the show. She was, well, looney: psychotically obsessed with pets, "I will love you and kiss you and hug you until you die!" *Proceeds to squeeze the poor animal half to death*
Elmira reminds me of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (http://snipurl.com/bore). Or, rather, the parody of her who was featured on The Simpsons.
In general, however, I prefer Elmira to Elmyra. For two reasons: 1. Elmira's the original spelling, and 2. Elmyra looks messy to me, when compared with Elmira. I can easily see it on a witch.
What about Elmera, a fem. form of Elmer? Pronounced either el-MEER-ah or EL-mer-ah (like Elmer, but with the ah sound on the end).

I think it could work...
The "el" is kind of sweet and nice, but the "myra" could remind people of Myra Hindley (moors murderer).

Thanks.
