I really don't like bunny.

I would never use Bunny as a NN. I also find it tacky and trashy.

It reminds me of Sailor Moon. In the (reportedly rather crappy) English version of the manga (Japanese comic book), as well as several international translations, Sailor Moon's civilian name is Bunny. This is a translation of her original Japanese civilian name, Usagi ("rabbit" in Japanese).

I think Bunny as a given name is very childish and cutesy, yes. But as a nn for Berenice, Bernice, or Bernadette, I don't find it so bad.

I was recently surprised to find out Buffy (similar feel to Bunny, obviously) was a nn for Elizabeth. Maybe that's common knowledge but I didn't know. Buffy is a horrible name, too.

I've never heard it as a nn for Berenice, myself, but I don't think it's that bad. I mean if it's just some cute nn that your family or your close friends call you I don't see what's so horrible or trashy about it. Now if you went around signing your name as Bunny and being called Bunny by everyone, I don't know if I would like that. I don't see it as being different from any of the other cutesy nicknames that are out there other than the fact that it also is used to referred to a baby rabbit. But, honestly, what does that matter...?

I don't really see Bunny as a nickname coming from a formal name. I see it as a pet name, like Sweetie.

I've never heard of it as a nn for Berenice, and it doesn't seem that obvious either. For Berenice, I'd assume Bernie was the obvious nn. I don't care for Bunny - it makes me think "playboy bunny" - but I wouldn't call it trashy, just childish.
