Hmmm... Looks like you're getting four different pronunciations here! I pronounce it bree-GEE-tah (gee like in gold or gum and ah like the first letter of octopus or olive). I consider this to be a German/Scandinavian name and that's how it's pronounced according to those languages. I think it's pretty.

I don't know anyone with the name, nor have I ever heard it pronounced, but I'd say it as Breh-git-uh. I don't care for it, as I don't like how it looks, or how it's pronounced.
