[Opinions] VALLON
I was just watching the Martin Scorcese movie 'Gangs of New York' with Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Daniel Day-Lewis, etc... I've really taken a liking to the main character (Amsterdam - Leo's character)'s surname, Vallon. Does anyone have any information on that name? Am I the only one who thinks it would make a unique first name for a male?

I really like the Vallon for a boy,
'le vallon' means the small valley in French

I don't care for it because it is too surname-y.

It's nice for a male middle name but I don't tend to like many surnamey-type names alice x

It's kind of cool sounding, but I prefer Fallon :-)_____________________________________________________________________"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true."Elinor

I think it's rather interesting, Vallon does have some appeal for me, even though I don't usually like many surnamey names. I've seen the film 'Gangs of New York' and Amsterdam seemed to fit Leo's character really well, but I think you'd have to be both extremely brave and a little crazy to actually name your son that. But with the popularity of city and country names at the moment, well....who knows?
