It's all boy to me, too. Don't know if I'd even use it on a boy, though, because it just makes me think of a snail (not sure why!) or Silas Marner.

Hmm, I'm not sure it really works on a girl, but it might grow on me. Silas is not a name I've ever given any thought to, even on a boy. So I'm more or less neutral towards it.One thing-- I'm not sure it works with your other children's names, style-wise. It's just got a very different feel to it, though you might not mind that :-)_____________________________________________________________________"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true."Elinor

I find it unattractive for a boy or a girl.

I don't like the name- at all, but jmo. It could work on a girl. I really don't like it though. Really, really. It sounds sorta snake-like to me.

Stylistically I don't think it fits well with your other children's names at all.
I'm too lazy to think of a clever signature.

I can get behind some odd boy-to-girl names...(m)Like Chester. And Edwyn. But Silas isn't one of them. I don't like it on either sex--it sounds like "silo" and just isn't very attractive.Maybe something with a similar sound would work? It's not a name, but I always thought Silesia would make a neat name for a girl. Of course, it's not at all in your usual style--but I'm sure there's something similar sounding that's not nearly so...icky.Array

No.Silas is completely and totally masculine. There is no way it could work on a girl. I'm really sorry...but I just cannot see it.Siri

Ditto, and I don't think it works with your other kids' names.

Hmm, Silas isn't bad. It doesn't exactly fit in with the sibs names though. But it could work. : )
