What do you think of the old French female name Carmine (car-meen)? I like it, but wouldn't use it.

I tend to view Carmine as a boy's name (plus that's what the BTN database lists it as), but if it's a girl name where you're from, it's okay.

I like most Car- names for girls. Not Carmine, though. It's pretty but -ine sames sound weak to me.

I've never heard of it. I like Carmine (kar-MINE) for a boy, but I didn't realize there was a feminine prounouciation. I can't say I like it very much though.

Isn't one of the Gotti boys named Carmine (car-Mine) I believe is how they say it? I wasn't really sure since i've only managed to sit through about a quarter of one of those shows before getting annoyed and changing the channel.

It's not a movie, it's a reality TV show
On Victoria Gotti, daughter of John Gotti, famous US mobster.
She's a (non-criminal!) socialite divorcée with three living sons: John, Carmine, and Frank "Frankie". John's namesake is obvious; Carmine was named for his father, Carmine, Sr.; and Frankie was named for Victoria's deceased brother. Victoria's firstborn child was a stillborn girl, Justine.
I watched snippets of the show, but got my info from the IMDb.
