Well I normally don't like alternative spellings unless they are widely accepted and/or the original spelling looks awkward/weird to me somehow, which Bethany doesn't. BUT... Bethanie isn't all that bad. I do think it looks more cutesy but besides that, I guess I have no real problem with it. I still prefer Bethany though.
