I've never been a fan of Bethany. It's always been in the same class as Amber and Summer to me -- kind of low-class (no offense to anyone, it's JMO!). Spelling it a different way just makes it confusing for the person, too, I believe.

I do have a good friend named Bethany. She's made me like the name a little more. But she says that growing up, when she first said her name, people thought she was saying "Stephanie". :b But the name is more common now, so I don't think that would be a problem.
