[Opinions] Decalin ? (added sibling names)
My roomie's aunt had her 5th child yesterday, and 4th boy! His name is Decalin Quinn. Molly (my roomie) is not fond of the name and wishes they would've used Quinn for the first name, as do I. They are an Irish family and I'm wondering if Molly's mom perhaps heard wrong and his name is actually Declan. Either way I don't like the flow. WDYT? siblings:
Brennan
Shea (girl)
Connor
Brogan

Chelsea Nicole (86 days til my 21st birthday!)Proud big sister to David Thomas (18) and Luke Joseph (14)!Go Cubs! Especially my "boyfriend" Mark Prior. Get better soon!

I like Declan......but Decalin is horrible. I think Declan Quinn is not too bad, actually. A lot of "kuh" sound... but there are worse things!

I think I pretty much agree with you and Molly. Declan isn't, imo, a great name to begin with, and Decalin is awful. And it really doesn't flow at all.

I'm thinking she probably heard the name wrong. If its an Irish family, its most likely Declan.I love Declan - its probably my favorite Irish boy's name, and I think it goes well with Quinn. Only slight slight slight issue is that there is an actual Declan Quinn (brother of Aidan) who works in the film industry. But he's obscure enough most people probably won't think twice about it.Now Decalin - that's another story.

I like it strangely enough but would have preferred Declan as it is actually a name ... what are the names of the other kids?I think the flow is good but I kind of want to pronounce it DES-lin (like Jocelin etc)Alice x
