[Opinions] Emma
What do you think of the name Emma? I think it's sweet, and I love the meaning (too bad it's so common . . . I'd never use it, but I love it).

Same here...I love it, but it's too common, so I wouldn't ever use it.
It's sweet but I'm tired of hearing it.
I like Emma, but I'm put off by how popular it is at the moment. However, my husband adores the name (& has for years), so I'm definately willing to consider it. Oddly, a lot of our girls' names are on the popular side : Grace, Lily, Maggie, Olivia, Isabelle, Audrey, & Emma and that was never my intention. My boys names are definately not popular (Kiefer, Harrison, Walker, Finnegan with the exception of Liam & Owen).
Inside of me there is a skinny girl, screaming to get out but I can usually shut her up with cookies!

It's ok...very sweet and pretty. I used to love it, but it's so popular no that I'm getting tired of hearing it...and it takes a lot for me to get tired of a name.

Emma's a nice name, I like it. I have a friend named Emma. She's a bit vain and very mainstream, but she's also nice and righteous, so I have good associations with it. I agree though, I'd never use it; too popular. Hopefully it will start declining on the charts soon.

I'd rather see Emmeline or Emilia, personally--particularly Emilia, as I really like the character in Othello.
Emma has a yuppie-ish tinge to it, in my opinion. I know a very nice one (with siblings Molly and Luke), but she's old enough that her parents weren't being trend-followers in calling her Emma. The name is...well, unoriginal, at this point, to put it really bluntly.
I am partial to the name Emma Frieda, though--but that's because it's in the family tree. :)

I love it! I love old names. It's also a a name that fits a little girl, young woman or older woman.

I really don't see why there is such a great appeal to this name. I don't find the sound attractive at all, and it seems whiney. Still, at least it is a real name and not something like Kayleighauna.
