What do you think of the name Lux for a girl? What does it make you think of?

Personally, I could never use it. Not after reading The Virgin Suicides.

Assuming it's pronounced "lucks", I can't get past the soap brand. Sorry :-( The meaning is beautiful but Lucia, Liorah etc. all have that meaning and are much more aesthetic._____________________________________________________________________"He (David Gest) looks like he's had a lot of plastic surgery done, but not by a plastic surgeon."Elinor

It really doesn't look like a name to me at all. It makes me think of the soap with the same name, and a short word for luxury.

I think it sounds kinda cute, but it does make me think of Lux soap and the movie The Virgin Suicides.

I like it but i'm not sure how it would go over with other people, you know what i mean? I think i am afraid that people are going to thing its made up or short for something (granted the only thing that comes to mind is Luxemburg)
I don't mind the Virgin Suicides reference. I don't really think that one book or movie reference is enough to end a name, that is just one "Lux" there are thousands of others. ~~~~Kai~~~~

While it is a girls name, it isn't at all pretty or feminine to me. I think of the words lox and acid reflux disease.

I don't like it at all. I think it sounds tacky...along the lines of Diamond or Velvet. I don't like the way it looks or sounds, and it sounds more like a kind of car than a name for a person. It's rather a shame, because it has a nice meaning...but I just think it's horrible. It's one of my least favourite names. It also makes me think of lox.~ Caitlín

I really like it a lot. There's something it reminds me of, but I just can't put my finger on it...I think it was a character in some show I used to watch years ago. Hmm. Well, anyway, it's a really nice name.------------------------------------

It totally reminds me of the movie "Virgin Suicides" - I love this movie. The main character (played by Kirsten Dunst) was named Lux Lisbon.I think the name is alright...NMS though.

Me too, although Lux can hardly be described as the 'main' character...
Lux is alright, but sounds as though it should be a nn for something else.
