I don't mind a connection. As long as the names don't sound the same and the connection isn't glaringly obvious.
eg:
Jonathan and
Naomi - both Hebrew and biblical. Though most people wouldn't be walking around with that information in their head. :o)
I like:
Jonathan and
MatthewBrendan and
SarahDeborah and
MelissaMelanie and
Phoebe
Don't like:
Cara and
Mia - if one died you have lost a part of you 'my beloved'. Fine so twins are supposed to be close, but they are separate identities too.
Anagram names - a bit too much for me. eg:
Aidan and
Nadia,
Dolly and
Lloyd,
Amy and
May.
Aurora and
Dawn - as
Aurora means dawn then
Dawn is above
Aurora because one name 'means' the other childs name, as an English speaker. (am I actually making sense?) Same with
Hannah and
Grace.
Nai
Chocolate is a Vegetable - a Staple part of the Normal Diet
