[Opinions] Ananda
Okay, since we have a boy's name sorted (Alexander Drake) I'm looking to finalise the girl's name. Only we've hit a snag.
I really like Ananda True (True is my late maternal grandmother's maiden name) but my fiancee is not keen on True.
I've thought of Brenna, as an alternative to Brenda (my grandmother's christian name) and recently June (the month my grandmother was born. But while I like Brenna, I can't warm to June very easily.
My fiancee, at this stage, would like to honour a friend of his who passed away recently. Her name was Rebecca Joyce. I can't stand either of those names. He also likes Maya, but I can't see that flowing nicely with Ananda. The only combo he has suggested is Ananda Amethyst. It's growing on me, to tell you the truth.
So I'm looking for middle name suggestions that will work with Ananda, at this stage I'm open to anything, though I am a fan of Welsh names.

I like Alexander, Ananda kinda (better than Amanda!), Brenna better than Brenda. Rebecca Joyce is gorgeous although Joyce is nms. Maya is so cute! Amethyst is tacky to me.

Ananda Joy (for Joyce)
Ananda Verity (for True)
Ananda Pearl (birth stone for June?)
Ananda Lily
Ananda Iris
Ananda Jade (very Asian to go with Indian Ananda)
Ananda Ruby
Ananda Alys (Welsh form of Alice, similar in sound to Amethyst)
Ananda Eirlys (= snowdrop)
Ananda Glynis
Angharad Carys (I couldn't resist)
Ananda Eve
Ananda Kiri*
* Behindthename.com says this is a Sanskrit name, which matches Ananda nicely. Growing up I always considered it an Australian Aboriginal name because of Kiri Te Kanawa (sp?). As Australians, this might work nicely as well. Just a thought from someone with too much time on her hands.

I would never choose Ananda, as the poor child will go through life correcting people who think her name is Amanda. And Amanda is so pretty on it's own, why mess with it?
I think Ananda/Amanda June or True works best. Brenda or Brenna are nice but not with Ananda; it just doesn't flow. Ananda Joyce also works.

Thanks everyone.
I actually like in Australia, so my grandmother was born in Winter, not summer. I don't think Ananda Winter would work.
Jocelyn is okay, but too common for my liking.
So far, nothing's jumping out at me. I do like Ananda Rose, but I'm not sure how my fiancee feels about it. When I suggested it, he thought it was told old fashioned.
Any other ideas?

Ananda is a very nice name, plus it has a pleasant meaning. I also like Brenna, much, much better than Brenda.
Combos:
I like Brenna June, but if you don't, then don't use it.
Brenna Summer - the season your grandmother was born in.
Brenna Joy - probably you like Joy better than Joyce. The two names are still close enough to honour his friend.
As for Ananda, I would use something simple with an ethnic and unique name like this
Ananda June - sounds nice as well
Ananda Fay
Ananda Rose
Ananda Becca - you may like Becca even if you dislike Rebecca...
and again, Ananda Summer, Ananda Joy flow nicely.
Ananda True does flow well, but I'm not sure True is an ideal name. What do you think of Vera (or any other name meaning "true")?
You could also use Maya as a fn, and thus
Maya Rebecca
Maya True
Maya June, etc.

I'm not sure how to pronounce Ananda. Is it like Amanda with an "n" instead of an "m."
Anyway, I like all of your names. My favorites are: Ananda True and Brenna June. They sound very feminine and have good meanings. Maybe Brenna May or Brenna July if you don't like June? They are close to June.
