[Opinions] WDYTO Amaris?
WDYTO the name Amaris? I just came across it, and I kind of like it.It's not in BtN's database, but Oxygen's babynamer says that it means "promised by God" from a Hebrew expression. Other sites give the meaning "child of the moon" but most of those are babynames.com clones that I'm not inclined to trust.Shannon

I really think Amaris is a beautiful name too!
It may be a Hebrew name meaning "God has promised". I have heard of the name Maris too but Amaris is prettier. Could have nn Amy which I also love or just Mary which is also cute.

It's beautiful, but the Oxygen meaning is wrong. At best, it comes from the male name Amaria, meaning "G-d said".

I like Damaris better. I think it's very pretty. Amaris sounds too much like Amara, which seems rather tryndee to me. Amaryllis (as Ciarda said, it does sound like a contraction of that name) is also gorgeous.Array

dittoWhen I found out that Amaris was my cousin's middle name, the first thing I thought of was Amaryllis without the "ryll."

I've heard it before and I dislike it.
It has too much trend potential.
