[Opinions] Parisa
What do you think? Is it pronounced Pair-RISS-ah or Pair-REES-ah? I love the meaning - fairy like.

I know a girl named Parisa, and she pronounces it PAR-iss-ah, but everyone always says it Puh-REESS-uh

I think Parisa is a lovely name.

It does have a pretty meaning, and I like the sound- it could grow on me provided the name Paris wasn't so trendy. I automatically think Paris Hilton (gag) instead of the origins of Parisa.

I say par-EES-ah. It's one of my more unusual favourites and I like it much better than Paris for a girl. The meaning is lovely, too.Shannon

It is not English, so would be pah-ree-sah, not pair :)

Parisa's not made upParisa's a legitimate name: according to BtN itself, it means "like a fairy" in Persian and is used in Iran. (Though personally I haven't a clue why it's relatively unheard-of here in NA, given the apparent trendiness of Paris for a girl.)

I could've sworn that it's Paris with an a.Thanks.

I tend to pronounce it pah-REE-sa. I think it's infinitely better for a girl than Paris, and could be used as a fem. form of Paris too, despite the true etymological origin.

I don't care for it. I don't think it's pretty, but yet, I find it frilly.
