Hi!
Although I have heard the name Renán before, I had no clue of whta it means until you asked.
I searched a little and I found that it is a French, male form of Renato. It is like Reneé but this form of it is either male or female. Maybe someone else has a full explanation for it.

I´m sorry to desapoint you, but the meaning, isn´t the same as renato, which is reborn, the last time i checked it i found the meaning "little seal" or "seal", i´m searching again because i think that definition is erroneuos...
