As in Vladimir Ilyich? Well, his last name was a made-up name... most likely inspired by the River Lena in Siberia...I've never even thought about the similar pronunciation of Lenin and Lennon... :-)

You're right, they don't, in Scandinavian languages... But I believe in English they might do so to a great extent: LEN-in.
