I like this pronunciation
Are you sure ...or is this just what you would use?

Well from my memory of 6 years of learning Japanese...The japanese language is syballic-letter sounds, each one being pronounced so A-Ma-Ya are the letters than make up the name when written in Hirogana.AnthonyChris: I don't have to listen to you. You're a dog. You don't have a soul!
Brian: Ouch. That was cold.

was more confused about
Is it long I or long A in the middle

a-mie-a, I believeJapanese names properly don't have emphasised syllables. If your accent prohibits you from not emphasising, I would say a-MIE-a would be the most appropriate emphasis.

Long IIE is how BtN writes the English long I sound, as in the word "eye".Also, please don't abuse punctuation. Question marks don't like working together, and you really only need one question mark to ask a question. You certainly don't need to use 10!

I don't understand is that hurting you?
Or... Is it a "Law" on this message board?

It hurts me because to see innocent, helpless punctuation misused and abused, yes. Both for the punctuation's sake and the sake of my inner punctuation Nazi.EDIT: Hit the "send" button too soon... Also, overusing and/or misusing punctuation tends to make you look like an immature, hyperactive 12-year-old. And we prefer our posters to be mature and reasonably calm, whatever their chronological age may be.There is no specific rule against misusing punctuation, but there is a rule about legibility of posts and avoiding rampant netspeak: http://www.behindthename.com/bb/help.php?board=gen#rules. You haven't broken that rule though, at least not imo.
