Hi!!
"Birch" is björk in Swedish (bjørk in Norwegian), but in Icelandic it would be birki!
In my Icelandic name book, the meaning of the name Björk is "bright woman", which is related to the name of the tree of course, because birch, birki etc. means just "light, bright".
