[Facts] How do you pronounce Annika?
So how do you pronounce Annika? Is it "ann-ih-ka", or "an-NEEK-a"?? (Or is it "ahn" for the ann part?)
Replies
There are several pronounciations, but I say ANNE-ih-kuh.
I prefer the Finnish prn. of AHN-nee-kah.
o, just say anika, it is in Slovene too
I've only ever heard ANN-ih-kuh :-)

In Sweden, it is pronounced UNN-ee-kah (or ONN-ee-kah), it is hard to describe without a phonetic alphabet. The big difference is in the pronounciation of the first A.
I think Annika is originally Dutch (Anneke) but I'm not sure how it is pronounced there.
I think that I myself would pronounce it as ANN-ick-a if I went to USA, but I don't know which pronounciation is considered "correct" in USA.

AHN-nee-ka
Actually...
There's not a 'correct' pronounciation. There are several, including ANN-ihk-uh, AHN-ihk-uh, ah-NEEK-uh, and there are probably more, too.

"ahn ih ka," I'd say.
