[Surname] the meaning of Frossard

I have been trying to find the meaning of the surname "Frossard". I don't know much about it.... have always been told that it's French. Any kind of info would be great!!!! I cab be reached at Katrinap63@aol.com

Frossard is derived from the French surname Froissant. It was a nickname for a strong but clumsy man - from the Old French 'froisser' meaning "to break, shatter" (from the Latin 'frustiare' from 'frustrum' "crumb, scrap")---------------------------------------
