The word "Dharma" finds its roots in Hindu mythology. It means 'relegion' (broadly and as known to many Hindus). Whereas in Sanskrit it means moral commitment towards something.
for example 'Dharmaraj- Dharma + Raj (kingdom) means - moral (or religious commitments) towards ruling a kindom (preferably by a king).
