[Opinions] Emma
What are some names that Emma can be a nick name for? I LOVE the name Emma, but I feel like it doesn't age very well, so I was hopeing for a better name that I can use Emma as a nickname for. Thanks!

My babysitter as a kid was Emilynne. It's pronounced Emm-ah-leen. Emma can be a nickname for that, and I'm sure you can spell it many other ways (Emilynne that is). I also like the name Emlyn. Emma can be a nick name for that too. I like the nickname Emmie/Emmey for both those names as well.

I just like plain Emma. I don't like any of the variations used for this name.
My boyfriends niece is named Emma after her great-aunt. So to me, it does age well.

I only see Emma as a formal name, and not a nickname for anything. I don't care for it, as I think it's very overrated, and it lacks beauty. I also don't think the formal name decision should revolve around the nickname, as the nickname may never be used, if the child doesn't want/like it. Then you've just settled on a formal name that you may not like. I think nicknames should be left up to the child, and not planned by the parent(s).

Emmeline...and I'm changing my name to Emma...people say it suits me perfectly :) It all depends on the person.

I think Emma would age well. It's just that there would be many young Emmas around at the moment.
