Dear Mom and Dad,
Wow! It's been awhile since we have seen each other, it may have been last Christmas or so. We are going to be seeing each other in a few months, you'll soon find out why. We have one less living here -- Carson and his girlfriend Alyssa have a baby girl. It was so surprising to us, and we didn't find out until a few weeks before she was due. With the two being away at college we had no idea. At first we were a little disappointed they didn't tell us but now we are supportive. The three of them live on campus and beautiful 2 month old Kayley Jordan just loves her parents. Carson decided to do the right thing - he and Alyssa are getting married! It is going to be on March 6th, 2007 at Heinz Chapel in Pittsburgh! You will soon be getting the invitation, but I figured I would tell you the news myself. Kayley was born on January 2nd, 2007 at Magee Hospital in the city. She is a beautiful vivacious baby with blonde hair and blue eyes, just like Alyssa. Every Wednesday and Thursday I go to pick up Kayley at their university, only about 40 minutes away, and she comes to stay with us for the day while her parents are at school. Alyssa's parents live much closer, only about 20 minutes, so they take care of her Monday and Tuesday. On Friday they are in class at different times so they take turns taking care of her. Once she is older she'll start going to daycare twice a week, with me one, and then with her Gramma Rose a second day. I love being a grandmother!! Since I only work part time anyways because of all the other kids, it's nice to have Kayley around! In other news, Kieran, Matt and Liam are much into soccer these days. They play with a 10 and under team and love it! They travel to surrounding areas and play in games and tournaments. Zoe is into her gymnastics and cheerleading and hopes to try competitive cheerleading next year. She wants to cheer at a local gym where they will have a routine with stunts and tumbling and dancing and they compete locally and nationally. I told her it's a big committment, but she's up for it. Yannick likes baseball and soccer. He's not as much into soccer as the other three but he enjoys it just for fun. Baseball is more his thing. He hit two homeruns last year and is learning how to pitch! We just started Jacob with baseball too. He and Yannick are on the same team and he is learning a lot from his older brother. Bryson is very big on sports. He plays football for his Jr. High as a running back and then in winter he plays basketball. In the spring he starts up with track for the school and baseball for the area youth program. He is in love with all of his sports and excels at mostly everything. Next season at the high school he is thinking about giving up basketball so he can train for baseball and football in the offseason. Track is important to him as well but he thinks he has a better future in baseball. We'll see what the future holds! We just started Keagan in dance last spring, as well as gymnastics. She loves it! Tap and jazz are her favorite classes. It is a big hassle to always get the kids where they need to go, but it's not that bad. Schoolwork is important to us, too, all of the kids complete their homework every night and get all A's and B's on their report cards. Ty is doing great, he loves his new job as a lawyer for Grayson Brothers Law Firm. He travels sometimes for his cases but he is home most of the time. Getting the kids from place to place has become easier with all of them involved in activities. Usually, I drop Zoe and Keagan off at dance after school, then during soccer season, Kieran, Matt and Liam off at their soccer practice to take Yannick and Jake to a baseball game. If they don't have a game, we just stay at the soccer fields and watch the others practice. After practice we head to the dance studio to get Keagan from her hour long class where Zoe also takes her gymnastics. Thankfully cheerleading doesn't take up too much time, for the youth football program, they only practice once a week and have games on weekends. Most of the time I have Ty home to help me shuffle the kids from place to place as well. Sometimes I just go home after I drop the three off at soccer and I go home to make dinner and Ty swings by the dance studio and soccer fields after work to get the kids. When I'm getting home, so is Bryson, from his sports practices or games after school. Usually his games are right after school so I can catch them after I work until two, I'll pick the others up at elementary to take them to his game. It's a bit of a rush a lot of the time but when we all get together to have dinner at 6:15, it all comes together.
Well, I know this letter was long so I must be going. Can't wait to see you for the wedding!!
Love,
Maggie, Ty and the whole gang!
