I think its one of those names that you have to own...and who knows if shes going to be able to own it before shes found her own personality and what not. I dont like it...I think as a nn for something else, even Camille (more as a pet name by family only) would be ok, not as a full name though.

I really don't see the appeal in Cameo at all. It just doesn't make sense to me, sorry. =/

As a first name, I'd hope it meant something to you. What about Camille, Camilla, Camellia, Camelia, Cambria, Caramia, Cleo, Cleone, Cleona, Camina, or Carmina?

She was the older sister of a friend of mine. She went by the nn Cammie a lot too. I liked it.

Cammie is cute. I don't know how I feel about Cameo, however. When I was growing up, we had a boat names The Cameo.
