[Opinions] Lija
WDYT of Lija pronounced (Lee-uh) on the girl I know.
I want to say (LY-JAW) Has anyone seen this form of Leah before? and how would you pronoune it on first impression?

I would actually say Lee-ah at first glance because the name looks Slovene to me (like my user name)
I never have. I wpuld say it LIE-ZHA, like the end of Elijah.
I would've first guessed LY-a.
I always think of "ij" together as being a y (with two dots over it.)

This is one of my best friend's names. She lives in Macedonia, she moved there last year. Everyone pronounces it LEE-juh or something like that when they first see it. She was irritated, but she was used to it haha. Her mom told me it was a Biblical name and she was the wife of... someone important I forget who. Her dad is Muslim, though, and at first I thought it was a Muslim name and I was surprised to find out it was a name in the Bible! But I like it. It's a different way of spelling Leah but it's still in the range of tolerable names. I wouldn't have thought of it, so kudos to them!
