[Opinions] Norine?
One of my coworkers spells her name Norine, as opposed to Noreen or Norene. What do you all think of this version? I think I actually like it better than Noreen or Norene. Also, what are your opinions of the name in general? Thanks!

I only like the Noreen spelling, but I'm not a big fan of the name. Seems dated to me and not ready for a comeback. But it was my grandmother's mn so I have a bit of a soft spot for it, too. :)

Norine looks a bit wrong to me, like it might be a typo. I'm far more used to Noreen and I prefer that, but I don't like the name. "-ene" names have never appealed to me - they seem very dated, just like -"lyn" names will in time - and I don't like Nor- names much either. (Nora, even Eleanor ... No appeal to me.)

Well, it reminds me of Corinne, and it is more streamlined looking, so though I want to dislike it, I don't. I think Norene would be better, but Norine is fine. Noreen is ugly to me. I don't know how I feel about it overall, though. I like it, but it is the name of a well-known newscaster in my area, so I automatically think of her. Objectively, I think I like it, though.

I'm not a fan of Norene in any spelling, it just seems to homely to me. Same with Nora, though that seems to be well liked by many here =(
I slightly prefer Corrine, and much prefer Corrina.

I actually prefer Norene over Noreen and Norine. It just looks better spelled that way to me. I agree with anotheremily, these names are even better because of the nickname Nora. I read somewhere that NÓIRÍN was a irish pet form of Nora...that's kind of interesting. It's in the Behind the name database.
