[Opinions] Vera and Megumi
Both have caught my eye recently. WDYTO them? I'm seeing Megumi more as a middle name at the moment, and Vera as either (though my love for Veronica might mean that Vera gets pushed sideways out, heh). Thoughts both on the names and a few combo ideas would be ideal. :)
What I've got so far:
Vera Lisette
Vera Moonlight
Vera Julanne (not a typo, thanks :)
Vera Juniper
Thalia Megumi (THAY-lee-ah in this case)
Eve Megumi
Marian Megumi
Hazel Megumi
They're rather different from what I've been thinking about lately, I know. :) Oh, and I currently prefer the VEER-uh prn of Vera, though I do like VARE-uh nearly as much.
Thanks!
Array
ETA: Claudette Megumi, Hildegarde Vera, Megumi Hildegarde. Cloudy and Hildy, that is. :)

Love Megumi ("me" (like MEss), "gu" (voice the k in KOOkaburra), "mi" (MIni)). Just there as someone wanted to know pronounciation - though that's according to Australian accent.
Megumi is one of my favourite Japanese names. I would use it as a first name or middle name. Though I think it's popularity peaked over the '80s or past 10 years (can't remember now and don't have time to check), it still has the popular -mi ending, even if it's not a separate -mi kanji. If I'm not making sense, Megumi means 'blessing' (well, that's the kanji used that I've always seen and what's given on behindthename), but a name like Nahomi has -mi that's it's own part and so can choose from a few different kanjis that are read as 'mi' (one being 'beauty' like that which is often used for Naomi).
Vera is nms. Though it seems to me that it's definitely right down your alley and style. :D I prefer VEER-uh over VARE-uh. What about Vera as a nn for Veronica? Can't remember if you already have a nn in mind.
Vera Lisette is cute but also has spunk about it.
Hazel Megumi is my favourite of the Megumi combos.
Thalia Megumi is a good combo too. :)
What about Vera Maureen, Vera Hermione, Vera June, Vera Petronella, Vera Evangeline, Topaz Vera, Vera

Have you considered using Vera as a pet name for Veronica? I know Veronica doesnt shorten to Vera, but if its your child you can pick any nn you want! I like Vera a little bit more than Veronica (which is my DH's first pick for a girl), but Vera feels too short for me personally to use as a full first name.
Megumi... I guess I would have to hear it to really form an opinion. But it looks like it could grow on me- as a mn.

I can handle Megumi as a mn, but it sounds too much like "me gummy" or something (I know, I'm strange). Vera has really been growing on me lately, though, and I prefer it to Veronica.
These are the best combos, IMO:
Vera Lisette
Vera Juniper
Eve Megumi
Hazel Megumi
Hildegarde Vera - though I'd prefer it in reverse

I love Vera (I pron it VEER-ah, with a rolling R) Megumi could grow on me, I think it's good to keep it a mn, I love the meaning.
I like Vera Moonlight and Vera Juniper of the Megumi combos I liek Eve Megumi best, Thalia Megumi is also ok.
I think Vera Megumi would work very nice as well.
I'm not very fond of either Hildegarde or Claudette, but I do like the nns.
suggestions:
Vera Whisper
Vera Primrose
Vera Elodie
Vera Soraya
Vera Morgaine
Vera Salome
Vera Solange
Vera Solveig
Vera Noor
Sieglinde Megumi
Masego Megumi
Pelagia Megumi
Gwendolen Megumi
Kunigonde Megumi
Rosalie Megumi
Verona Megumi
Raimunde Megumi
Siri Megumi

Vera has been growing on me lately too. Vera Moonlight is really striking. Megumi is interesting. Tell us more about it. I have never heard of it before and am not sure how to pronounce it. I am glad to see that you're prefering it as a mn for now because I would hate for such an unusual name to be reduced to the nn "Meg". I am always intrigued by your names.
