[Opinions] Ryland?
I was checking out the PureVolume page for the Christian hard rock band Inhale Exhale, and the lead singer's name is Ryland. I love it. I don't know if it's a combo of Ryan and Roland, or Ryley and Roland, or what, but I love it. WDYT of this name?

I know a little boy named Grant Ryland and his father is Grant so he goes by Ryland. It sounds like a surname or a combo of Roland and Rylan/Ryan/Riley, like you mentioned. I don't care for surname-y names that aren't established as given names (and 'only recently' doesn't really count, IMO) nor most names that end in -land, even if they aren't place names.
BTW, your sig is a little distracting because in the world of the Internet, all caps = yelling. :-/

LOL oops not the effect I wanted *goes change*
Its not a combo of any of the names you listed its a surname http://www.houseofnames.com/xq/asp.fc/qx/ryland-family-crest.htm
The surname of my maternal grandparents was Rylands.
Its not a bad sounding name but I much prefer Roland:)

It looks super trendy and probably a name that will be on the rise soon enough. That said, I've always liked Ry- names and this is no exception, I just would never use it on my own child.
I like Rylan, on a girl, but not Ryland
It's not bad but I don't love it. Seems pretty trendy as a first name. There is a homebuilder in my area called Ryland Homes. I think of their advertisements when I hear it.
That is exactly what I think of when I hear it.
