I love Jamie for a boy, but preferably as a nn. I dislike it intensely for a girl.

It's really popular here as a full fn for a boy, I think it's ok. I prefer the spelling Jamey though, and as a nn for James

Well my name is Jamy, so I'm more partial to it as a girl name! But lately it's grown on me as a boy name, and I've always thought it was a cute nn for James.

JamesI prefer James for a boy and Jamie for a girl

It's more of a girl's name for me, but It works for both.

For some reason I can't stand this name for either gender. Sorry. It just rubs me the wrong way. I like just classic James.

I think James makes a handsome first name and Jamie sounds like a lovely nn for a child. I have a hard time picture a grown-up Jamie though :)

I prefer it as a girl's name. For a boy, I just prefer James.

Um, James, nn. Jamie is quite common here. My brother is James, but only known as James. Which became quite handy in high school, cos there were two other James, nn Jamie in his class.Personally i think Jamie is way too cutesy for a man.
Oh, and the last winner of big brother here was a guy called jamie.

I like it as a nickname for James. I know quite a few boys actually with this nickname. For a girl I find it bland, uninteresting, and in many cases, preppy. It's a great choice for a boy though. :) I do prefer Jimmy, but Jamie's still a good name.

As long as it is a nn it is fineI don't think Jamie as a full name would age well. My reaction to an adult Jamie (who went by it in his public life) would be the same as it is to a grown man who still goes by Ricky or Petey...that they should grow up!I think Jamie is really cute as a nn for James or Jamison.

I've always liked it better for a boy.I usually like names that can have nicknames, so James __________ NN Jamie is great.Jamie doesn't really have any full forms for girls other than Jamesina, which just looks funny to me.As for girls who spell it Jaime, I either think the Spanish Jaime [pron. like saying "Hi, May."] or just pronouncing it like "Jaym"

I was thinking of using James nn Jamie

That's how I do it most of the time.I also have Jamison NN Jamie.

I really like Jamie on a boy, but I may be biased as I have a cousin by that name who is very sweet and charming. I think it's a really cute (but not cutesy) name for a boy.

I don't know, I really think it's WAY better for a girl. One of my friends is named Jamie Katherine, so whenever says "Jamie" I always think of a girl.

well I know loads of boy Jamie's and only one girl Jamie, so I think it suits both!

My boyfriends friend married a girl named Jaime. Funny because his name is James and his nn is Jamie. At the wedding, everyone called them Jamie & Jaime (though he's James to us).I don't like it. Too "girly" for me.
