I prefer Reagan.
I think of Regent, as in the hotels and also the person who rules a country because the monarch can't for some reason. I also think of Count Rugen, the six-fingered man who loves pain from The Princess Bride. And then I go, "Well, maybe they're illiterate Republicans." And then I wonder about Regan from King Lear and Regan from The Exorcist.
The name really doesn't appeal to me at all.

The boy name Regan is cute but I would pronounce it Ree-gan as in the g in the word ghost ree-gan but out of the two you asked about I would pick the Ree-jan pronunciation.
Of the two pronunciations you give, I would think it should be "Ree-jen." I do think that it would be frequently mispronounced as Reagan. It also does call to mind the word "Region." It's not bad, but not my style. Maybe "Regent" would work. Or maybe that's too corny sounding, being an actual word. :)
Of the two, the french prn gmv. The 2nd prn just reminds me too much of "region" for it to work as a name for me. TBH, though, at first glance, I thought Regen was a kre8tyve spyllynk of Reagan. :o/
it's spelled just like the Dutch word for rain...
so it's a little weird to me lol, even though it's not pronounced the same.
