I'd never heard it until the movie "Ma Vie En Rose" and now I love it because I associate it with that character. :) I don't care for Ludo much, though; Vic is a cute nn, however.

I like Ludovic nn Ludo, it's uncommon but not weird. Ludwig reminds me too much of Beethoven, it's a one-person name.

When I lived in France I realised that Ludovic was very common there (and the nn Ludo). I think it's nice but I wouldn't use it. Like you, I prefer Ludwig but spelled Ludvig.

Actually, I kinda like Ludovic as well. It's very distinguished, and Vic would work well as a nn. I'd never use it, but Ludovic might be nice on someone else's kid. I don't like Ludwig at all.
