[Opinions] Celia
Celia is a name I've been liking a lot lately - I love that it's connected to the Latin word caelum which means heaven. Opinions? Thoughts? How do you pronounce it? SEE-lee-ah or SEH-lee-ah? Celia or Cecilia? Which name do you prefer? And about middle names... so far I have Celia Jane, Celia Joy and Celia Maeve. Anything you like? I'm open to suggestion, of course. Would any of them go well with (hypothetical) sister Liora Noelle?
Thanks in advance.

I like Celia, despite the fact that it reminds me of cilia. I pronounce it SEE-lee-ah. I do prefer Cecilia, it seems prettier to me.I like all the names, but Celia Maeve is most intriguing to me. It's more different than Celia Jane / Joy. I love Liora Noelle, and I think Liora and Celia or Liora and Cecilia work nicely together.

I say SEEL-yah, but occasionally SEEL-ee-ah. I think it's gorgeous, and I also love Cecilia. I have a hard time deciding which one I love more, though. :b Celia and Liora are lovely together, btw. I esp. like Celia Maeve.

I love Celia (three syllables)and its meaning. I also like Celina. I definitely prefer Celia to Cecilia and I like all of the mns you've mentioned. It's hard to choose one. I also like combos such as Celia Claire, Celia Charlotte, Celia Catherine, Celia Caroline and Celia Corinne. There's something about C.C. initials that I think is really cute.

I really love Celia. I tend towards the SEE-lee-ah prn, but it turns into SEEL-yah when I say it fast. I love it because it is an anagram of my sister Alice's name and I also like the nn Cece. I love Celia Christine but Christine is my mn and I wouldn't want to name my daughter after myself. Still, it's lovely. Thanks!

It's OK. I pronounce it SEE-lee-ahHow about Celia Isabel or Celia Maria?

Thanks for the suggestions. Both Isabel and Maria are a bit too...traditional for my liking. However I do like Celia Marie. it would honour my mom, whose name is Marianne.

I think it is really pretty. SEE-lee-ah and I like it more than Cecelia today. Although Cecilia is just as nice.
