What's wrong with calling a boy Jacky / Jackie? Does calling a boy Johnny / Johnnie make him less masculine than simply calling him John? Why should it be any different for Jack? And there are Jackie Gleason & Jackie Chan to consider... :o) Jack Ryan is the main character in Tom Clancy's "The Hunt for Red October" and other novels. Jack Ryan is also the name of the Illinois GOP Senate candidate whose (now ex-) wife, actress Jeri Ryan, accused of forcing her to go to sex clubs. Just FYI.
