Knowing that Adair is the Scottish form of Edgar, I can't see it as feminine at all.
I love Edgar and like Adair. Since Adair isn't as well known as Edgar, it would be better off as a boy's mn. E.g., Patrick Adair, Thomas Adair, Kenneth Adair.
