[Opinions] Isadora
I LOVE this name, absolutely adore it. I would love to use it for my baby if my baby turns out to be a girl. It's so beautiful and classic and I think it goes well with my top boys name which is Matteo. When I think or say the name my heart just melts. But I need your opinion. My husband's name is quite long and that's the only thing that's preventing me to use it. What would you do?The name would be Isadora Tuivavalagi (too-wee-vah-vah-LAH-gee)... and that's with out a middle name. Should I use it anyway?

It is a bit long. :-/ But if you and DH both love it and can't find a name you love more, go for it. Chances are she could get married and change her ln anyway, if she wants. And she could go by Izzy LN, Isa LN, Dora LN, etc.

If you love it, I'd use it. I named my son Sebastian, even though his FN and LN rythmes with "Sebastian Bach" lol. I forsee he goes by his FN & MN when he is older :-)Also, I read your other post with the middle name suggestions, and If you are having problems with your family accepting a name you love, you can start out telling them you are naming him/her something completely off the wall weird, and so when you actually name your child Isadora or Matteo they will love it because it isn't so horrible. It's worked for lots of my friends. HTH.

I think for the first name, it should be shorter, since the last name is long. And, I'd put a middle name with it.

I think it's lovely, and if that's what you want then I say go for it :) I'd rather that than something chosen simply because it is short, for example Emma

I don't think it's too long. She'll be an adult for more of her life than she'll be a kid, so while it can be annoying to write out, it's not like it's going to actually be a problem. And it has cute NN potentials. I wouldn't worry about the length; I think it's really pretty, and it would be nice to see in a modern BA.

SUre, my parents restricted the length that they would allow m name to be and I haven't ever been able to get a decent nn from my friends because they're always making something up. Plus Isadora is a gorgeous name.

What could be more perfect than a name that makes your heart melt? For what its worth, I don't think Isadora is very long at all, in fact it has the same number of syllables as Matteo, which you've already green lighted for a boy! Sounds fine with your last name, imo. I also think Isadora is beautiful, so now I'm hoping you have a girl so I will know somewhere in the world is a beautiful baby Isadora! Izzy, Isa, Dora all reasons to love the name more. Edited because my brain is not working. Isadore is three syllables like Matteo, Isadora is four. But it's still a brilliant name and I do believe it works with your surname.

DefinitelyIts not an overly long name, its beautiful and has so much nn potential. And it flows with the surname. AND it sounds great with Matteo (enough reasons? :p)
Love Isadora, and the nn Izzy would be really cute and so is Dora or Dory
