Help[Facts] Looking for the definition of historical Japanese name
I've heard the name 'Motoko', for a Japanese female a few times, and have searched for months to find the definition, but have had no luck. Does anyone know?

One always has to see the kanji (characters) a Japanese name is written with, to determine the meaning. However, a very common meaning for Motoko would be "origin, foundation" + "child."
