For me, it's Dante's Divine Comedy versus Beatrix Potter. I like kid's books, so I'll go with Beatrix. :P

BeatriceI dislike Beatrix's ending, which reminds me of the word "tricks".

Strongly dislike both, sorry, but if I had to pick, I think Beatrix, though it's close.

I like both. I like the look and various languages Beatice can be used in, but I like that Beatrix was close to the original form.

I can never decide. Beatrice puts me in a royal family / historic mood. Very Victorian and serious. Beatrix makes me think of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck and Henny Penny. Delightful and whimsical. It just depends upon my mood, I suppose. Right now, I'm more in a Beatrix Potter / whimsical frame of mind.

I guess I'm in the minority here because I dislike both. However, if I had to choose, I would go with Beatrice. I find Beatrix difficult to say.

I like both, butI guess my favorite would be Beatrice. The x puts me off a bit, as if the parents were trying too hard to be different.

Beatrix. It feels less stuffy, and has more life in it.

At present, I prefer Beatrix. I'm just liking the feel of it more these days... It has so much kick to it.I love Beatrice, too, though, and go through times where I prefer it's quieter gentility.

I love it. I think it's classy and sophisticated but still sweet and not fussy. Beatrix does not have that connotation. Beatrice is in my Top 10 for serious future contenders.

Beatrix.Beatrix has more character and spunk, I think. It's probably the X; it's one of my favorite letters in names.I like Beatrice a lot, too, but sometimes it feels too quaint and gentle, if that makes any sense.

I like Beatrice better. I don't know why, but the "trix" at the end of Beatrix looks unappealing to me. I love the sound of it though.

Beatrice, which I love. Beatrix is sweet, but I can't get past the "trix" part, which makes me think of Trix cereal, the word "tricks" (and all its unsavory meanings) and the nn Trixie, which I really, really dislike.

Beatrice is classy, sophisticated, regal and refined.
Beatrix is spunky, unique, quirky and a helluva lot of fun.
Though the difference is so slight, they're really like apples and oranges.Personally, I'd go with Beatrix, but only slightly.

Beatrice...for some reason I find Beatrix very awkward to say *shrugs*My cousins is Beatrice Alexandra, and she's lovely ;)

Beatrice, Beatrix sounds a bit harsh.

Can't decide. I love both names equally. I would use either, it would come down to what name I was chosing to go with it. Beatrice has a softer, more feminine sound, imo, so it could pair easily with a name in need of softening. Beatrix is slightly harsher, and would pair well with a more frilly name, to create better balance. So say Josephine Beatrice and Angelina Beatrix.
