[Opinions] Bo
What do you think of the name "Bo" and would it be better on a girl or a boy? I have seen it before and I can't decide what I think of it. Thanks!

It's very nicknamey and doesn't seem like a good formal name for either gender, imo. It's a very soap-opera-ish name to me, too, as there are a couple of long-standing male characters on soaps named Bo (both are nn's, I'm pretty sure). If I did have to choose, I do prefer the Beau spelling, and only for a boy, as Bo is spelled B.O. which stands for "body odor". :-/ BTW, the preacher (Jim) at the church I attended while I was growing up has a son named James Jr. nn Beau. The "Beau/Bo" part came from Jim's nn when he was younger--Jimbo.

All I see is BO = Body Odour, So I prefer Beau but only for a boy

Beau is my dog's name, so I really like it. I prefer the Beau spelling. The Bo spelling seems more like a nickname. I only like it on a boy. I think it would be horrible for a girl.

I really love Bo for either gender. I prefer the spelling Beau for a boy for some reason though.xoxo

Haha...Bo JanglesSorry, thats just what it reminds me of. I think it is better on a boy. I have also seen it as Beau, but I find that annoying.

Bo doesn't seem masculine to me. I can see it on a girl, but probably as a nn only. Maybe for Bonnie or something. The spelling Beau annoys me a little.

I know a 12 year old boy named Bo (who has an older sister named Courtney). It's an okay name.

Short, sweet, & spunky. I like it for a boy. I'd use it as a NN for Robert or Boaz.

I like it on a girl, and frankly prefer it as a nn. It's very cute, though.

Spelled this way it reminds me of Bo Duke from The Dukes of Hazard. Beau is very cute for a little boy and gorgeous for a man.

Bo looks more masculine than feminine to me. I'd prefer Beau, though. I like Isabeau for a girl, but that's about as close as I can come to liking it.

I like it. I've met both a girl and a boy with this name and I think it goes best for a boy. It's one of my fav NNs, I'd use it for Boaz.

I like Beau. (on a boy) even though it means 'boyfriend' or 'dandy' in English.Bo is very low-class to me, since to me it's a misspelling of Beau, and I can only see it on a boy. B. O. also stands for Body Odor.
